I appreciate that you got me to read this poem. I am not the world's greatest poetry reader but I was able to extract more from it than I think I normally would have. I sensed fear and love in the poem but sometimes I think I lack the patience to look deeper at the meaning
Thanks Elinor! I feel like most people don't think of themselves as great poetry readers, but reading poetry is like viewing visual art -- there is no wrong way to engage. You take from it what you can or want to at any given time. That said, I also like to read together with other people's analyses. It gives me a new lens.
